Women's Issues on my Home Page
The past Sunday, July 30th, I deposited 3 new works at the Barn Gallery in Oyama, B.C. They evoke feelings of women at work, doing chores we do regularly, even though we may be out daily in the 'paid' work force. You will know their titles simply by viewing them. One I call 'The Shirt', which has just been loaded onto my homepage. Another is titled 'The Menu', and the third 'Was It On the List?' I have two more to load. These are a departure from my usual earthscapes and trees, but nevertheless, a topic I feel strongly about, obviously. I have been told they are 'poignant, whimsical'. We'll see what you think. I will add that the media I have used are varied. Included are etching from copper plates, monotype on mylar, application of water crayons and collage from my own wonderful collection of printed papers. They are on paper, and they have been framed. I hope to evoke some strong female emotions and opinions. Now I must close, for I'm preparing my dinner menu for tomorrow evening's guests, and I must be sure that all items to shop for are 'on the list'. Have fun viewing these. cheers, Madelyn
