Interlude:

Here it is, another hot Okanagan day, with 30 C. and higher, very typical of summer here in this valley. My studio is a cool place, on the lower level of the house. But I’m having trouble going down there, am not highly motivated to create after the intensity of completing 17 new pieces of work for the recent show at Place des Arts, in Coquitlam, B.C. The past year’s paintings have leaned more to semi abstract rather than abstract. I’m not sure that makes me entirely happy. I love a surface that allows one to ponder, to wonder about what they are looking at, to give it their own interpretation. When I do figure out what I want to do next, I will go back to the easel in a positive way, and make myself happy again.(Detail) of ’Windy Rhythms’
